Welcome to St Andrews Church, John Street, Bromley Cross.
This new modern building is built on the site of the old Church and offers a friendly environment for both young and old and we are happy to welcome new members of the congregation. We hold a coffee morning on the first Saturday of each month where you can come and socialize, browse the stalls and have breakfast.
Our church services are at 11am each Sunday with a family Communion service with on the third Sunday of each month.
We have a growing Sunday School which meet in the room behind church, where the children learn about Jesus and his work through prayer, stories, colouring and crafts.
The ladies of St Andrews provide coffee/tea and biscuits (and Juice) after each service and we encourage everyone to stay and have a drink and a chat whilst the children play.
LIFE AT ST.ANDREW'S
(As published in the current FOCUS magazine)
It has been a hectic April & May at St. Andrew’s. We have been busy replacing the carpets to the altar, worship area and entrance following our flood at Christmas. We have also had some of our kitchen cupboards replaced – but, it would have been wonderful if we could have had all these things replaced because we were having an extension rather than as a result of being flooded.
Ever hopeful that St. Andrew’s will see the day when we can extend, the Ladies of St. Andrew’s continue with their marvellous efforts hosting their monthly Coffee Morning’s. This month they raised £500.37p and also hosted a St. George’s Afternoon Tea, raising a further £439.00, making a generous contribution towards the Building Fund. Whilst it may take some time to raise enough money to start planning to extend St. Andrew’s, we are hoping to ‘Shine the Light’ and have a new stained glass window installed.
Congratulations to Grace and Brian Cheeseman on their Golden Wedding Anniversary and to John Paton on his 80th Birthday. The congregation send all their love and a very big ‘thank you’ for their kindness of spirit in asking for donations to our Stained Glass Window Fund instead of gifts.
We welcomed Ted into our church, as he was baptised at St. Andrew’s and also send our love and prayers to his parents, Gemma, Ben Gardiner and ‘big’ brother Leo.
Mindful of the difficult task during our interregnum, thank you to all our clergy for their commitment to our churches and ensuring that ‘normal services’ are resumed... which is a reminder that St. Andrew’s have their Sermons Sunday service on 11th June.
Thank you to Kate Turner and Janet Holland for making Sunday School so much fun for our children... and to the children themselves for their contributions to our services and for making us smile!
