This year’s Prize-Giving Service held on Sunday 15 July was delightful !

It was very well attended with most of our Junior Church members there to receive their specially chosen book or Bible from Father Bill and the Junior Church leaders.

The readings by the children for this ‘Service of Five Candles’ tell of the five special events in the life of Jesus: Christmas – Good Friday – Easter – Ascension – Pentecost. The corresponding prayers were written by the children themselves, and a candle was brought to the altar to be lit during each of the readings.

The liturgy, which we use in the School Eucharist each Thursday morning, was included in this Communion Service.

It was a very special occasion when we said “Goodbye” to four of our Year 6 children! {Although, we hope, this is only ‘Goodbye’ from attending Sunday School !}

We received compliments after the service from members of the congregation, saying how clearly the children read; well done!! A warm thank you was given to all the children and to their Junior Church teachers.

May I take the opportunity of saying a very special thank you to Jenny Murphy for co-ordinating everything so seamlessly throughout the year.
