Walks Programme 

What a wonderful walking year we had and I am sure you will all be looking forward to a repeat this year!

I would be interested in your comments on this as once again we need to be aware of discounts as they become available for an early booking.


27th January
Tatton Park 7 miles Easy

 A round of the the Tatton Park Estate on parkland paths, tracks and open ground. A wonderful day in prospect with 400 deer and maybe snow on the ground.

24th February
Townley Hall and the Singing Ringing Tree 6 miles Moderate

A varied walk taking in many of the area's attractions and landmarks.

24th March
Aysgarth Falls and Bolton castle 6 miles Easy

This delightful circuit from Aysgarth to the village of Castle Bolton and back is easy walking. The spectacular waterfalls and the dominating presence of Bolton castle are highlights of this walk.

28th April
Winster in the South Lakes 7 miles Moderate

This circular walk off the beaten track explores the guiet green lanes around the village of Winster. The rolling Lakeland scenery is                        superb with a visit on route to Rosthwaite Heights which has a great view over Windermere.

26th May
Nick Nook and the area around Griesdale 7 miles Moderate

This walk is to be led by Cath Galaska, who lives in the area, and has invited us to her home for refreshments after the walk.

27th June
Downham Circular 6 miles Moderate

Taking a tour of the undulating landscape around the foot of Pendle Hill. Downham is arguably Lancashire's prettiest village and the setting for the 1961 film "Whistle Down the Wind"
